SIT UK: The regional branch of the global SIT organisation operates in the United Kingdom, offering consultancy, executive coaching, and workshops for businesses. They focus on helping local organizations, from agile scale-ups to large enterprises, accelerate new product development, strategy, and problem-solving.
My role, on the two day 'Ideation' workshops I help participants visualise abstract ideas, mapping out complex, structured workflows and ideas generated by participants in real time to bring the company's trademarked 'Innovate on Demand'™ concepts to life.
How the Ideation Session Works
A typical SIT ideation workshop follows a highly structured, fast-paced sequence:
Define the Object/Process: Explicitly list all internal and external components of the product or process.
Apply a Tool: Intentionally use one of the 5 tools above to disrupt the list (e.g., mentally subtract a core feature).
Visualize the Form (My part): Picture the resulting "virtual product" without judging it.
Identify Benefits (Function): Ask who would benefit from this specific configuration and what problem it solves.
Assess Feasibility: Adjust the idea to make it safe, legal, cost-effective, and practical to implement.
Each idea portrays the idea in visual shorthand form. The artwork is then printed and hung for the participants to see.  My record for two days of drawing is 109. That looks very impressive stretched across a room.
I have worked with the British Army, National Power and Southern Water among others.
I find this work both challenging, exciting and very satisfying seeing the reaction of the attendees at the end of the two days realising what they have achieved!
